Smart Apples

We continue learning about airplanes. We had fun making paper planes and counting with our shoes the distance the paper airplane flew. The children had the opportunity to count and compare distances. Ms. Cindy helped the children to plant flowers in the sensory garden. We can’t wait to see them bloom. The children created beautiful placemats for our annual thanksgiving feast. The class discussed what they were thankful for… we are thankful for our family and friends. We would like to thank the parents for attending the annual thanksgiving lunch. Finally the sun came out!   On Monday, we had the opportunity to explore Ms. Krista’s car. We found letters and number in the tires. We explored the engine, battery and checked her oil. It was so much fun! We transformed our housekeeping into an airport. The children made passports and tickets. They pretended to go through an X-ray machine and ride on an airplane around the world.   The children used watercolors to make beautiful air balloons and use wooden sticks to make their airplane.   We learned that airplanes not only carry people, but trucks and heavy boxes. This week we continue learning about land transportation. The children practiced their fine motor by cutting cars, wheels and school buses. We learned about non-standard measurement. The children uses snap cubes to measure different trains and cars.   The children explored different lines in the light tables. The children are working together in different task. It is awesome to see the children help each other and new friends from other classes. This week was raining and cold, we hope next week the sun comes out so we can explore a real car. Monday was a special day for the little ones! It was Halloween! The children had so much fun going around to our school and practice trick or treat! It was a marvelous Monday! We began our study on transportation. We transformed our dramatic area into an auto shop. The children pretended to fix a car, change tires and fixed headlights and taillights. The children practiced there fine motor by writing the letters in their name and created a train. Also, the children wrote words related to transportation in their journal. The children used small cars to paint different lines. It was fun! The children use geometric shapes to create transportation patterns. El Lunes fue un día especial para los pequeños!
