We decided to observe a banana go through the process of decomposition. The children notice how the banana changed color and became softer with the pasting of the day. Also, in science we practice to sort and count 1:1 insect. In math, we discuss how butterflies’ wings are symmetry. That mean same size and shape and we created symmetry butterflies with pattern blocks and use snap cubes to measure caterpillars and sort them by size.  At literacy center, the children sorted by letters and matched uppercase and lower-case letters. At art table, the children painted beautiful butterflies, drew pictures of ants and created a representation of their favorite insect with playdough. ...

The children sorted insects by several categories. At literacy, we continue working on recognizing letters and producing sound and the children are playing with letters. The children practice using scissors and sorting butterflies by size. At art table, the children learned about symmetry of a butterfly and make a bee. The children continue creating amazing structures and working together, sharing, taking turns and solving social conflicts. Our students online, sorted words and painted beautiful butterflies. Next week, we will continue learning about insects.   Esta semana, aprendimos cómo cambian los insectos a través de diferentes etapas.
