Smart Apples

This week we continued our study on “The gingerbread man”. During circle time, the children put in order pictures to retell the story. Also, we talked about different ending for the story. At blocks, the children built a bridge to help the gingerbread man to cross the river and drew pictures of their bridges. At dramatic play, the children continued baking cookies, served hot cocoa and pretended to be a baker. At art table, the children used scissors to cut a gingerbread man out and decorated it, painted with mixes of ginger and brown paint and ripped paper to decorate a gingerbread man. At science, the children taste gingerbread man cookies, and we found out why cookies and water don’t mix. We found out that cookies can dissolve in water or milk.  Also, the children used gingerbread cut outs to measure their height and drew pictures to represent their findings. At manipulatives, we added the boardgame candy land. The children loved it! They are learning to take turns and wait...
