Flowers/ Las flores
This week, we begin our study on flowers/plants. We transformed our dramatic area into a flower shop. The children played with flowers, made flower arraignments and water flowers. At blocks, the children added flowers to their structures. At the sensory table, the children used their finger to put flowers into a streamer and use gardening tools, soil and plastic flowers. At art table, the children drew pictures of their representation of a flower, observed a flower and painted them and used geometric shapes to make a flower. At math table, we used pattern blocks to make a flower and used snap cubes to measure different flowers. At literacy, the children continued playing with letters, sounds and spelling words. At science, the children used magnifying glasses to explore different seeds and drew pictures of their observations.
