Flowers & Gardening/ Flores y la jardinería
This week we continue learning about flowers and gardening. We learned that some vegetables are flowers too such as broccoli and cauliflower. Broccoli and cauliflower can be yellow and purple too! We planted basil that is a herb that people use to add flavor to their dishes. At art table, the children used Q-Tips to paint flowers, used vegetables to stamp, painted their favorite vegetable and fruit and used paper plates to make a flower. At manipulative table, the children created a variety of patterns by using beans. At science, the children observed vegetables and drew pictures of their observation. At writing table, the children wrote uppercase letters. At literacy table, the children continued practicing recognizing letters and producing their sounds and recognizing opposites. We learned about the letter “Y” and the children played with a yo-yo. At blocks, they continued building together and practice taking turns and sharing materials. We ended our week by saying farewell to Bogie...
