Flowers & Gardening/ Flores y la jardinería.

We started our study on Flowers/Gardening. We started by creating a KWL chart. At science, the children observed seeds and drew pictures of their observations. Also, we learned that beans are seeds. We put beans to germinate, and we will keep observing them and see the change over time. At art table, the children drew flowers, observed flowers and then painted them, used tissue paper to make flowers and used geometric shapes to create flowers. At sensory table the children played with flowers and colander to make flowers arraignment and practice their fine motor skills. At dramatic play, the children sorted flowers and pretended to plant flowers. At blocks, the children built with a variety of blocks and created amazing structures. At manipulative, we added the board game Hi Ho Cherry O. The children practice taking turns, counting and following the rules.  It was a fun week full of learning!

Comenzamos nuestro estudio sobre flores y jardinería. Empezamos creando una tabla KWL. En ciencias, los niños observaron semillas e hicieron dibujos de sus observaciones. También aprendimos que los frijoles son semillas. Los pusimos a germinar y seguiremos observándolos para ver cómo cambian con el tiempo. En la mesa de arte, los niños dibujaron flores, las observaron y luego las pintaron, usaron papel de seda para hacer flores y usaron formas geométricas para crear flores. En la mesa sensorial, los niños jugaron con flores y un colador para hacer arreglos florales y practicar su motricidad fina. En el juego dramático, los niños clasificaron flores y simularon plantarlas. En bloques, construyeron con una variedad de bloques y crearon estructuras asombrosas. En la actividad manipulativa, agregamos el juego de mesa Hi Ho Cherry O. Los niños practicaron tomar turnos, contar y seguir las reglas. ¡Fue una semana divertida y llena de aprendizaje!
