Flowers & Gardening/ Flores y la jardinería

This week we continue learning about flowers and gardening. The children observed the bean seeds, and we learn about parts of the plants and flowers. We learned that the roots of a plant always grow down and help plants to suck the water and sun light. Also, we observed that some of the beans have a stem. The stem is the backbone of the plant, it will support the leaves and flowers. At the dramatic center, the children pretended to order flowers and create amazing arraignments.  At sensory center, the children used small rakes to find lowercase letters. At art table, the children created amazing cards and presents for Mother’s Day. At science center, the children smelled herbs and created a graph. Also, the children tasted chive cream cheese with crackers. We learned that some people use herbs to add flavor to their food. Also, the children planted ryegrass seeds, and they will take care and observe them and over time and draw their observation. At manipulative, the children drew a picture of a flower and use Unifix cubes to measure their height and wrote their findings. At the writing table, the children drew pictures of their friends and wrote their name. We finally ended the week by celebrating all the amazing mothers in our school family. The children help their mom to make flower arraignments, and they used pictures to describe their mom. Also, they had an amazing time playing in different centers. We want to thank all the families that showed their love and appreciation to us. We felt so much love! 

Esta semana continuamos aprendiendo sobre flores y jardinería. Los niños observaron las semillas de frijol y aprendimos sobre las partes de las plantas y las flores. Aprendimos que las raíces de una planta siempre crecen hacia abajo y ayudan a absorber el agua y la luz solar. También observamos que algunos frijoles tienen tallo. El tallo es la columna vertebral de la planta y sostiene las hojas y las flores. En el centro de dramatización, los niños jugaron a ordenar flores y crear arreglos florales increíbles. En el centro sensorial, usaron pequeños rastrillos para encontrar letras minúsculas. En la mesa de arte, crearon tarjetas y regalos increíbles para el Día de la Madre. En el centro de ciencias, olieron hierbas y crearon una gráfica. Además, probaron queso crema de cebollino con galletas. Aprendimos que algunas personas usan hierbas para dar sabor a sus comidas. Además, plantaron semillas de raigrás, las cuidarán, las observarán y, con el tiempo, dibujarán sus observaciones. En la actividad manipulativa, dibujaron una flor, usaron cubos Unifix para medir su altura y escribieron sus hallazgos. En la mesa de escritura, los niños dibujaron a sus amigos y escribieron su nombre. Finalmente, terminamos la semana celebrando a todas las increíbles madres de nuestra familia escolar. Los niños ayudaron a su mamá a hacer arreglos florales y usaron dibujos para describirla. Además, se lo pasaron genial jugando en diferentes centros. Queremos agradecer a todas las familias que nos mostraron su cariño y aprecio. ¡Sentimos muchísimo cariño!
