We can’t believe this is our last week of this year! Our week was full of science and experimenting with materials. This week we learned how baking soda help cookies, cake and bread to taste better. Bakers called it a leaving because the gas that produce is contain with an acid that helps cookies to form the tiny holes inside the cookies and bread. The children experimented with baking soda and vinegar. Also, the children made structures with gumdrops and toothpicks. At art table, the children listen to directions on how to draw a gingerbread man and play with playdough and cookies cutters. We discuss how we can help the gingerbread man to cross the river. The children brainstormed and bridges, boats and helicopters were our top 3 solutions. The children created bridges in different centers and experimented with Legos, blocks, cups and tables.
