Smart Apples

This week, we learned about some of the tools and machines used in the building process. We discussed various machines and reviewed important safety rules followed at construction sites. We learned that goggles and hard hats help workers stay safe at the construction site. At the sensory table, the children used a hammer and golf tees to follow and create patterns. At the block area, the children used a variety of blocks to construct detailed and imaginative structures. At the dramatic play area, the children continued experimenting with different materials to create and build a variety of structures. At the manipulative table, the children used colored blocks to make structures, played with Legos, used Unifix cubes to create patterns, worked with puzzles, counted 1:1-correspondence bricks, and recognized numbers by hammering nails.
