Smart Apples

This week was the first full week for this year!   We spent our week by reviewing our study in winter. The children make an igloo with packing peanuts. We had fun making ABC patterns with marshmallows. We used mittens to measure our height and we made a class book.   The children count 1:1 correspondence, identified numbers and wrote numbers.   This week the children experimented with ice, bell and magnets. It was fun! We observed how long it takes to melt ice and how the magnets stick to the bells. The children continue learning letters, numbers, shapes and improving their fine motor. It was a week full of fun!   Our class decided that our next study would be on Pets. Esta semana fue la primera semana completa del año! We can’t believe that more snow is on our way! We enjoyed our day by creating patterns and writing words related to winter. We are learning to count 1:1 correspondence and performing pre-mathematic operations. We continued to enjoy building with white blocks. We hope everybody will be safe during the snow days! No podemos creer que mas nieve viene en nuestro camino! Nosotros disfrutamos nuestra día creando patrones y escribiendo palabras relacionadas con el invierno. Estamos aprendiendo a contar 1:1 correspondencia y realizando pre-matemática operaciones. Continuamos disfrutando construir con los bloques blancos. Esperamos que todos estén a salvo durante los días de nieve!

This week we continue learning about animals that adapt and migrate. Some animals fly south to warm weather such as monarch butterflies and some birds. The children painted beautiful butterflies. We are adapting to being in school after winter break and some snow days. The children are playing letters and puzzles. In the dramatic area, the children pretended to ice fish and live in an igloo. At the sensory table the children played with water beads and artic animals. They counted and sorted. The children are using different materials to measure and sort by color. It was an excited week! Los niños pintaron bellas mariposa, Nos estamos adaptamos a estar en la escuela después de la vacaciones de invierno y algunos días de nieve. Los niños están jugando con letras y rompecabezas....

Our first of class was very short!   We learned about some animals that adapt to the environment. Rabbits, deer and fox grow a tick fur to protect against the cold and the snow. We practiced our fine motor skills by using golf tees and we pretended to cook in a fire pit. Due to inclement weather our week was really short. We hope everybody enjoyed the snow! Nuestra primera semana de clase fue demasiada corta! Aprendimos acerca de los animales que se adaptan a el ambiente. Conejos, venados y zorros   les crecen un pelaje mas grueso para protegerse del frio y la nieve. Practicamos nuestra motricidad fina con los dientes de golf y pretendimos cocinar en una fogata.   Por el clima inclemente nuestra semana fue muy corta. Esperamos que todos hayan disfrutado de la nieve!
