Celebration! Celebración! Family fest! Almuerzo familiar!

This week was about celebration. We celebrated the importance of family and friends. We would like to thank all the families who attended our family fest. Thanks for sharing their time and delicious desserts. Also, we celebrated what we learned about dinosaurs. The children created a T-Rex dinosaur with the toilet paper rolls that the families donated. Thanks for all your help! .   Ms. Krista and I would like to wish you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving Day! Our next study will be on winter. Esta semana fue acerca celebración. Dinosaurs! Dinosaurios!

We continued our study on dinosaurs. The children learned about standard and non-standard measure. The children measured the length of bones with measuring tape and sorted them by size. They wrote their observations. We learned about non-standard measure, the children use linking cubes to measure the length of dinosaur footprints. The children counted 1:1 correspondence. Also, the children worked in small groups to make a volcano. The children worked in small groups and prepared play dough to make the volcano shape, painted the volcano and added details such as rocks and dinosaurs. The children used oil pastel to draw pictures of volcanoes and their favorite dinosaur. Also, we also added pattern blocks and the children completed dinosaur patterns and recognized basic shapes. The children played with fossil play dough and use eyedroppers, colored water and salt to melt ice egg dinosaurs. It was a week fun of all learning! Continuamos nuestro estudio en dinosaurios. Dinosaurs! Dinosaurios!

This week was a short week, but a busy one too. We continue learning about dinosaurs. The children at art center use scissors to cut a Brachiosaurus and decorated a dinosaur footprint with pom poms. They counted one-one correspondence pom poms. We learned about chemistry reaction between baking soda and vinegar. The children practiced their fine motor skills by unlocking locks and they practice writing words. The children sorted, counted and classified dinosaurs and bones in dramatic play center and we then traced them and wrote numbers. The children built bridges and caves with blocks. During our circle time, we compared herbivores and carnivores dinosaurs and how they are similar. We are collecting toilet paper rolls for our final art project. Thanks for your help! We began our week by practicing how to knock on the door and ask for trick or treat. The children had so much fun. Our Fall party was a success. We would like to thank the parents for attending and sharing with us a special snack and movie. This week, we will begin our study on dinosaurs. We transformed our dramatic area into a Science museum. The children use brushes to dig for fossils and dinosaurs. We learned that the paleontologist go around the world in search for bones dinosaurs and fossils. The children painted dinosaurs and made dinosaurs with different shapes. The children are signing their names every day.   I would like to thank the parents who met with me and discussed their child progress and we created goals for this school year.
