Making new friends!

Image
This week we concentrated on learning about requesting a turn, enter into a group and use kind words with our friends. We added some of our family jobs to our class and the children are excited about their new responsibilities. The children are writing their names every morning and they are excited about writing their names and letters. The children continued experimenting with different materials and creating beautiful artwork. Our first month together was filled with a lot of laughs and new experiences. Fall is here! Our class is going to study the change in the weather, learn about apples and pumpkins.

Our daily schedule and routine!

This week we learned about our daily schedule and we added a visual schedule to help the children to track the activities and time. Also, we learned about the different people that work our school. We started the Handwriting without tear program. This program is a multi-sensorial program that helps children to learn to write letters and recognize letters. The children are signing their name every day.  The gingerbread man has become one of our favorite books. Friday was our first FSP, it was great to see the children show the parents their favorite center and materials. Thanks to the parents who took time to visit our class. We are creating a school family with routines and commitments that represent our school values. Next week, we will introduce our school jobs. Each child will be responsible for a job that support our school family.

Our first week!

This was our first week together. We spent this week by learning about what to do when we are afraid or scared at school. We learned about our safe place and how to use sensorial materials and breathing techniques to calm our bodies. The children continue exploring different centers and using the materials. We are working on our fine motor skills strength by using tongs and garlic pressing at the sensory table and using their journals at the writing table. At science the children are using primary colors to create new colors by using colored water. This week was filled with learning and new experiences.
