Gardening/Jardinería
This week we started our study on gardening, flowers and plants. We discussed the different types of gardens and we started our KWL chart. At art table, the children used markers to make representation of flowers, used geometric shapes to make flowers and observed flowers and painted the flowers. At block center, the children added flowers to their amazing structures. At dramatic center, the children set up a flower shop. The children sorted flowers by colors, design their own bouquet of flowers and pretended to buy and sell flowers. At sensory, the children practice their fine motor by putting plastic flowers into a colander. At science, the children explored different seeds and drew pictures of their findings. Also, the children put black beans to germinate. We learned that beans are another type of seed. At manipulative table, the children measured flowers with unifix cubes and wrote numbers.
