Winter/ El invierno
This week we learned about winter. We learned some signs of the winter season such as bare trees, cold temperatures and snow. We transformed our dramatic play into a skating rink. The children pretended to skate and prepared delicious snacks. At blocks we added pictures of igloos, and the children used white blocks to build igloos and different structures. At art table, the children painted snowflakes, created a snowy scene and made a winter tree with construction paper. At sensory table, the children played with snow and measuring cups. At manipulative we added the game Pengoloo. The children practiced recognizing colors, counting and practice waiting their turn and following the rules. Also, they played with puzzles and Mr. Potato Head and made snowflakes with pattern shapes. At literacy, the children played with letters and pictures by recognizing alliteration (ex.
