Buildings/Los edificios
This week we started our study on buildings. We began by creating a KWL chart. We discuss what our class knows about buildings and what do they want to learn about buildings. We transformed our dramatic play into a construction site with tools and different building materials. The children explored the materials and created different towers and buildings. At art table, the children made valentines cards for senators and representatives that support early childhood education, drew pictures of their house, made buildings with geometric shapes and made houses out of wood popsicles. At blocks area, the children used a variety of blocks and created amazing structures. At science, the children used wood logs and building toys to create different types of homes. At writing table, the children practice writing letters. At manipulative table, the children-built towers with small blocks and used rulers to measure the height, and we used a wrecking ball to knock blocks down and the children count...
