This week we learned about maps and 3D model. We learned that a map is a drawing that shows where things are located, like cities, roads, and rivers, and helps them understand and find their way around different places. At art table, the children worked on a map of our school neighborhood and then their neighborhood and then they worked on the 3D model by painting a house and creating details. It was a project over time to help the children to persist and attend to task/project. At sensory table, the children played with measuring cups, water and pipes.  At blocks, we added boxes, and the children combined blocks and boxes to create amazing structures. At manipulative table, the children copied and created their own structure using colored blocks and wood sticks, used pattern blocks to make tool patterns, count 1:1 correspondence and create patterns with Unifix cubes. At science table, the children used wood and foam blocks to make a string and a bigger house for The...

This week we learned about what buildings are made of. We discuss that buildings are made of different materials such as: brick, glass, metal, stone and wood. At art table, the children designed their dream house, used shapes to create a house, build a house with clay and wood sticks and painted with Q-Tips. At dramatic play, the children continued experimenting with different materials to build amazing structures and drew blueprints.  At block center, the children built different structures and then drew pictures of their building. At sensory table, the children built with foam blocks on water, we learned about balance and also, we continued using golf tees and hammer to create patterns. At science, the children used tree blocks to build towers and then drew pictures of their towers. Also, they work in a set of two to build towers with cups. We measure with yarn and then we compared them to find out which team built the tallest tower. At manipulative, the children used patter...
