Bakery
This week was about the science behind baking. We learned that yeast, baking soda and baking powder help the liquid batter to get spongy. When the liquid batter goes to the oven carbon oxide is release and that makes them grow up and that is one of the reason bread and cake have little tiny holes. Also, we experimented with milk, food coloring and dish detergent. We learned that milk contains water, sugar and fat and when it gets in contact with dish detergent it separates the water and the fat. At art table, the children tasted condescend milk and painted with it. Also, they used different size cups to create beautiful designs and use rolling pins to paint. The children pretended to bake different breads, cookies, pies and cupcakes. At the sensory table, the children used tongs to sort different poms-poms. The children are learning to create simple graphs and counting 1:1 object. At blocks, the children created amazing structures. It was a fun week!
