Human Body/ El cuerpo humano

This week, we continued our study on the human body. We learned that some bones protect some organs. Our skull protects our brain and ribs protect our heart and lungs. We learned that our brain helps us to process information, feelings and solve problems. Also, we learned that our lungs help us to take deep breath. At science table, we use non-standard measurement to measure parts of the body. The children count 1:1 and wrote numbers. Also, we exercise our lungs by blowing balloons. The children took deep breaths to fill balloons with air. At blocks, the children use blocks to create a skeleton. At literacy, we spell words and recognize letters and sounds. At art table, we made skeletons with Q-tips and we use yarn to represent our veins. At dramatic play, the children continued to pretend to be a doctor and patient. They use x-rays to learn about bones. It was fun to see the children connect information about their experience visiting the doctor and how they choose a role.

 

Esta semana, continuamos nuestro estudio sobre el cuerpo humano. Aprendimos que algunos huesos protegen algunos órganos. Nuestro cráneo protege nuestro cerebro y las costillas protegen nuestro corazón y pulmones. Aprendimos que nuestro cerebro nos ayuda a procesar información, sentimientos y resolver problemas. Además, aprendimos que nuestros pulmones nos ayudan a respirar profundamente. En Science Table, usamos medidas no estándar para medir partes del cuerpo. Los niños cuentan 1:1 y escriben números. Además, ejercitamos nuestros pulmones inflando globos. Los niños tomaron respiraciones profundas para llenar los globos con aire. En los bloques, los niños usan bloques para crear un esqueleto. En alfabetización, deletreamos palabras y reconocemos letras y sonidos. En la mesa de arte hicimos esqueletos con hisopos y usamos hilo para representar nuestras venas. En el juego dramático, los niños continuaron fingiendo ser médicos y pacientes. Usan rayos X para aprender sobre los huesos. Fue divertido ver a los niños conectar información sobre su experiencia visitando al médico y cómo eligieron un papel.
