Dental Health!
This week we started our study on dental health. We transformed our dramatic play into a dentist office. The children pretended to look for cavities and count teeth. The children had fun using mirrors and different dentist tools. At science center, the children observed their mouth and teeth and drew pictures of their observation. Also, we experimented with eggs and different liquids. The children created their predictions and we observed how liquid affect the enamel of our teeth. Some liquids can change the color of our teeth. We found out that water and milk are healthier for a tooth. At art center, the children use toothbrushes to paint and create a mouth with marshmallows. We learned that children have 20 teeth, 10 on the top and 10 on the bottom. We finish our week with our annual fieldtrip to Marbles Museum. It was great to explore and engage in play.
