Buildings

We continue learning about buildings. We learned about the different professions that collaborate to build different buildings. We learned about construction workers, electricians, and architects. At art table the children created different representation of buildings with shapes and painting with Legos. Also, they created structures with playdough and wood sticks. The children practice counting 1:1 correspondence. We used a 10 frame and the children wrote different numbers. This week we learned about coding activities. Coding helps teach problem-solving skills. Coding helps children develop new ways of thinking by breaking up big problems into smaller steps. Coding helps take the fear out of making mistakes or failing. The children are persistence in finding a way to solve a problem. We learned about unplugged activities. The children created a code to avoid the big bad wolf. It was fun to see the children count and create strategies to solve the problem. Also, we created hopscotch coding. The children learned about programmer and how to follow a code and commands. We finished our week with a great Family Parentship day. We decorated a delicious Gingerbread House. Thanks to the parents who come and enjoyed this sweet event.
