Human Body/ El cuerpo humano

This week we started our study on the human body. We learned about body parts. We created a K W chart. We listed what they knew about doctors and what they wonder about the human body. We transformed our dramatic play. The children pretended to be doctors and patients. They role played to check the patient and check x-rays. At art table, the children drew pictures of a person, made a self-portrait by drawing eyes, mouth, nose, ears and gluing yarn for their hair, painted with watercolors and played with playdough. At science, the children played with a skeleton puzzle and labeled body parts of their peers and baby dolls and played with magnets to create different patterns. At manipulatives, the children use non-standard measuring to measure their shoes, sort by size and shape.  At sensory, the children played with sand, measuring cups and funnels.  At blocks, the children made people by using a variety of blocks. At writing table, the children recognized alliteration by stamping the beginning letter sounds or matching letters. At literacy, we continued playing with letters by producing sound, recognizing sound and alliteration. It was a short week but full of fun! Happy Spring Break!

Esta semana comenzamos nuestro estudio sobre el cuerpo humano. Aprendimos sobre las partes del cuerpo. Creamos una tabla de K W .Anotamos lo que sabían sobre los médicos y lo que se preguntaban sobre el cuerpo humano. Transformamos nuestro juego dramático. Los niños jugaron a ser médicos y pacientes. Jugaron a revisar al paciente y a revisar radiografías. En la mesa de arte, dibujaron una persona, hicieron un autorretrato dibujando ojos, boca, nariz y orejas, y pegándose hilo para el pelo, pintaron con acuarelas y jugaron con plastilina. En ciencias, jugaron con un rompecabezas de esqueleto y etiquetaron las partes del cuerpo de sus compañeros y muñecos, y jugaron con imanes para crear diferentes patrones. En actividades manipulativas, usaron medidas no estándar para medir sus zapatos y clasificarlos por talla y forma. En actividades sensoriales, jugaron con arena, tazas medidoras y embudos. En bloques, formaron personas usando una variedad de bloques. En la mesa de escritura, reconocieron la aliteración estampando el sonido inicial de la letra o haciendo coincidir las letras. En lectoescritura, seguimos jugando con las letras, produciendo sonidos, reconociéndolos y haciendo aliteraciones. ¡Fue una semana corta, pero muy divertida! ¡Felices vacaciones de primavera!
